Friends of Kids with Cancer is committed to keeping patient families, staff, volunteers and our community safe. The members of our FOKWC Family are among the most vulnerable and compromised - cancer patients and survivors, healthcare workers, researchers and doctors who are on the front lines of this crisis. They need us now more than ever and we are working closely with our hospital partners on new ways to bring comfort to our families during this uncertain and difficult time.
In light of everything happening we want to remain positive and upbeat! Which is why the race must go on... virtually of course ;) That's right we are encouraging our participants to get moving wherever they are. A walk around the block, a run down the street, or a stroll in the backyard whatever you can do to help kids with cancer... be kids!
Ultimately, this decision was made to support the health and well-being of everyone associated with this event. We hope this change puts us in the best position to safely host our Walk and benefit kids with cancer and their families.
The entire planning committee and staff joins me in appreciation and thanks to our dedicated FOKWC Family members and sponsors who have registered for the Walk and have begun fundraising and growing their teams.
